JOHN NANNI BIO
John Nanni has been playing guitar in bands, writing and performing original music since junior high school. As a teen, he listened closely to the lyrics of songs and appreciated the beats and melodies of popular music on the radio. He was influenced by a variety of groups from the smooth southern sound of the Allman Brothers to the jazz rock fusion of Steely Dan. He developed an appreciation for country music influences from bands like the Eagles, America, Johnny Cash and Alabama.
It wasn't long before John was known as a prolific songwriter in his home town of Pensacola, FL. This passion for songwriting and an informative meeting with BMI's Clay Bradley (now an Executive at Sony BMG Music) inspired a move to Nashville in 1996. From his new base in Franklin, TN, Nanni established Three Creeks Music, a music production and publishing company.
Hitting the Music City running, Nanni involved himself in not only songwriting, but in producing, engineering and mastering radio singles, album projects and demos for a wide variety of country, pop and Christian artists. As the primary song plugger for Three Creeks Music, he has fostered professional relationships with many of Nashville's top labels, artists, publishers and producers. He continues to collaborate with other successful songwriters, write on his own, work with new artists, record in his Pro Tools project studio, and pitch his catalog on Music Row.
The music business is a relationship business, and John has made many of friends in Nashville and has grown professionally by his involvement with the Songwriters Guild of America, Nashville Songwriters Association International, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences and by taking courses and seminars at Blair College of Music and Belmont University. In 2007, John signed with attorney, Keith Solomon of Brentwood TN to handle his music business affairs and contracts. Most recently, Nanni inked a songplugging relationship with Winner Records and Publishing Company, based in Ft. Worth Texas.
Born in Youngstown and via Long Beach and St. Louis, John's family found their way to Pensacola where he lived with his parents, three brothers and two sisters. The Gulf Coast is where John enjoyed surfing as a member of the Innerlight Surf Team, fishing, and other water sports; earned his B.S. in Computer System Science, and M.S. in Management; married his beautiful wife Dana Michelle Abbott, and had three children: Nathan, Shawn and Dominic-all guitarists and songwriters in their own right. For more than eleven years, John and his family have called Franklin, Tennessee home.
